Ancient Egypt. Marble seated figure with a headdress and chin beard, symbolizing the hope of resurrection. A female standing on crocodiles and the face of Bes, the Egyptian dwarf God believed to guard against evil spirits and misfortune, carved on the front. 18th Dynasty.

Ancient Egypt. Limestone scarab, with incised hieroglyphics on the bottom. A common type of amulet, the scarab is so called because it was made in the shape of a beetle (Scarabaeus sacer or dung beetle) that was personified by Khepri, a sun god associated with resurrection. 

18th Dynasty, 1570-1342 BC

In ancient Egyptian mythology, the geese were believed to be the creator of the world. They were believed to have laid the Cosmic Egg from which Ra, the sun God, was hatched.
